Invisible Braces in London
Invisible braces are a group of braces which are not visible. You can have orthodontic treatment to enhance your smile without the discomfort and appearance of metal braces. This is particularly true if you work in the entertainment industry, or have face-to-face clients.
Having orthodontic treatment does not necessarily mean wearing noticeable metal brackets and wires, as ‘Ugly Betty’ did. With technological advances, contemporary braces can be made from clear (clear and relatively hard plastic materials), natural tooth-coloured materials (ceramic), or placed in the lingual side of teeth (lingual braces) to provide patients with an attractive and less socially challenging alternative to stainless steel metal braces.
Invisalign – Removable Aligners in London
Invisalign or the invisible aligners are made of a thermoplastic material that appears similar to teeth-whitening trays. A series of Invisalign aligners are custom-made for you, to move the teeth gradually, and correct the malocclusion. However, when wearing them they are not noticeable. This makes Invisalign an excellent treatment option for aesthetically conscious individuals or professionals needing seamless social/work interactions.
Each Invisalign aligner will make a slight correction to the tooth position. When using aligners they gradually shift the teeth and start moving them. Nearly every two weeks, you need to use the next set of aligners, in a process that eventually straightens your teeth. You need to see your orthodontist every four to six week. The aligners should be worn for about 20-22 hours per day. You can remove your aligners to drink and eat your favourite foods during treatment, as well as brushing/flossing, to maintain fresh breath and good oral hygiene. To achieve some complex tooth movements, you may require having some “attachments”, which are made of enamel-colored composite, fitted to your teeth. This is to ensure the aligner grip the teeth and makes them move more effectively.
Uniquely, with the Invisalign, you can view your virtual corrected bite (occlusion), as well as the proposed treatment plan (tooth movements) before you even start the treatment.
According to the Invisalign website, on average a patient requires one full year of treatment—equivalent to 24 sets of Invisalign clear aligners.
Similar to metal braces you should not eat, drink or smoke while you wearing the Invisalign aligners.

Lingual Braces – Incognito in London
Lingual brace is another invisible method of correcting your smile.
Lingual braces are placed on the lingual side or ‘back side’ of the teeth, facing the tongue, providing efficient tooth movement with great aesthetics. Lingual braces are more efficient than clear aligners when aligning rotated teeth, moving teeth up or down, and closing the tooth extraction gaps. Therefore, the orthodontist has more control over tooth movements compared to Invisalign or removable aligners. Any discolouration from your braces (modules or ties) occurs on the lingual (back) side of your teeth which is hidden to viewers. As Lingual braces are relatively difficult to clean, patients must be committed to maintaining excellent oral hygiene throughout treatment.
Incognito braces are an advanced generation of lingual braces that are hidden discreetly on the back of the teeth. This allows people to continue their daily routine without feeling self-conscious because their braces are virtually invisible from the outside.
Incognito braces are suitable for any age group – children, adolescents and adults who want to correct their tooth position. The brace is custom made for each patient to maximise comfort and ensure precise results, this is achieved by using the latest computer technology when creating the brace.
There are many reasons to choose Incognito braces:
- Customisation: They are individually designed and produced just for you.
- Aesthetics: As they are placed on the back of the teeth they are virtually invisible from the outside.
- Time: Visible success in only a short time.
- Comfort: Most patients experience minimal discomfort and speech interference, after just a short adjustment period, you will be able to eat and speak normally.
- Reliable correction of all types of incorrect tooth positions
- Suitable for all age groups.
- No risk of decalcification to the front tooth surface.
- Since the brackets are made of gold alloy, nickel allergies are not a problem.
The choice is Clear Ceramic!
Clear Ceramic Braces in London
In order to address the increasing aesthetic demands of orthodontic patients, ceramic brackets were introduced in the mid-1980s. Ceramic brackets are far less noticeable than conventional metal braces. However, they tend to cost more than metal braces and treatment with them may take a bit longer.
As ceramic braces are made of a translucent, clear material (polycrystalline, monocrystalline alumina, or pure grown sapphire), they are highly popular with adults and even teens. These clear braces can be used as a substitute for traditional metal braces. Ceramic braces are more fragile and since they are abrasive to tooth enamel, these brackets usually are used on the upper teeth.
Depending on your bite, you may be able to use ceramic braces on your lower teeth. The ceramic braces that we use will not stain or discolour, maintaining the same attractive appearance throughout your entire treatment. However, ceramic brackets, similar to metal braces, require (clear) elastic ties. These clear elastic ties (modules) may become discoloured when you eat or drink coloured drinks (tea, coffee, or wine,) or foods or when you smoke. We provide advice on how you keep your braces looking their best.
